Story-telling as Art of Communication

 

Communication is never just the sharing of information between different individual - the art of communication is particularly important in the design process which involves effectively aligning the very different voices of stakeholders. To inspire participants on using visuals to creatively communicate ideas and concepts, IDK held a design thinking workshop for Design Spectrum in November to explore the strategies in the creative process of communication design.

Led by book designer and publisher Renatus Wu, the workshop brought participants into a co-creation process that explored the benefits of visualisation and story-telling when constructing a communication framework. Kick started by a group drawing contest to warm up their creative muscles, the workshop then further set a challenge on a real-life case on design and planning. After working together as a creative team, participants were able to come up with creative products and business plan, that react to different users and target audiences.
