Design as the Knowledge of Arts and Science
Design thinking is a mindset to innovate and lead change. IDK and the Bachelor of Arts & Sciences programme (BASc) of the University of Hong Kong jointly organised a series of workshop on the topic "Leadership as Service to Others" in early November to introduce the topic to future young leaders. Students participated to put design thinking into practice – they went through the process from empathy, problem definition to rapid idea generation via application of tools and methodologies provided by IDK, allowing them to see day-to-day problems with fresh eyes and propose creative ideas to tackle those wicked problems surrounding young people’s lives, their communities and the world.
